Meet the new U.S. President Donald J. Trump [PHOTOS]

On Friday, January 20, 2017, the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States was held on the West Front of the United States Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. It marked the commencement of the four-year term of his presidency. Just after noon, Eastern time, President Trump was sworn in.

A parade down Pennsylvania Avenue followed soon after.

President Trump replaced outgoing President Barack Obama, who attended the festivities with the outgoing first lady and other past Presidents. Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump’s defeated opponent in the 2016’s election, was also in attendance.

How did the world react to the incoming US President inauguration? Well, it depends on what your expectations are. But the reality that ensues from the handover of power to President Trump remains to be fully analysed. As of now, countries around the world have unmistakably exhibited dissimilar reactions.

On the one hand, China, Mexico, Iran, Germany and many more are torn between sorrow, caution and strategic realignment. Germany, for example, will need a new economic strategy geared toward Asia should the new U.S. administration start a trade war with China, Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel said, warning of a “rough ride” hours after President Trump was sworn in.

On the other hand, Taiwan, Russia, Israel and Great Britain, just to name a few, seem to be in a more celebratory mood following the arrival of President Trump at the White House.
